Hackers Invitational Tournament

A tournament for the rest of us...

Hello fellow Hackers,

I hope this email finds you all healthy and well. I know it has been a rough couple of years for all of us. Covid-19 put a huge damper and strain on everyone. More than anything, I hope it has made you all understand and appreciate the things we have and take for granted. Most importantly, is your family and friends.

Both Brian and I really love this tournament. The first couple of years with just our small group at Snohomish, celebrating in the parking lot afterwards and not realizing how much we were growing. Then to be blessed with Paul Melohusky and the staff and facilities at Glen Eagle. That really turned the tide for us and the growth of our tournament. From there on out it got crazy. Their unrelenting service and support made the "day of" the tournament a lot easier.

The "social activities" at Kevin Marth's before and after the tournament was something to remember. The addition of Big Brother and Big Sister as our dedicated charity really took a lot of pressure off us, with all their help and donations. I mean free beer before we tee off! Who does that? Thank you, Cyrus, for all your help.

During normal years, Brian and I would start planning this tournament usually in December. Yes, a lot of that is because we are overzealous and particular about how we want things done. But it has always paid off. Here we are in April and I have not even sent a "save the date" email out yet. Both Brian and I have a crazy busy summer ahead of us. So, with that said, it saddens us, that we have decided to cancel our tournament this year and more than likely, the years to come. 10 years was a great run, and we will never ever forget how awesome it was.

By no means are we quitting golf. We will be setting up little excursions here and there and hopefully see some of you on them.

So don't be a stranger, and for those of you who only got out that one time a year to play in the tournament.....please get out and play. We still might set up a few tee times that day in July to play.

Brian and I are discussing possibly turning the tournament over to some other sucker.....I mean notable person. So, do not be surprised if you see something in the near future.
